Customer Review: I just received this Chefman 6 in 1 Air-fryer earlier today. I\’ve cooked a ton of bacon in it earlier and am now dehydrating banana slices and grapes. It\’s a bit early to have a definitive opinion, but I did want to share some first impressions.THE GOOD:- In other reviews I noted some who observed that the temperature up/down button increments in 10 degree steps. I assume their device was a generation older than mine as mine increments in 5 degrees steps. Nice!- I also noted in other reviews comments that the wire cooking racks are flimsy and that the wire mesh was so sharp it could cut your hand. After cooking bacon, the wire cooking racks had quite a bit of cooked on food product. Briefly soaking the racks in warm soapy water and using a stiff dish washing brush cleaned these up like new.- One or more reviewers mentioned that in spite of the drip pan, drips got past it and to the bottom of the device. I just simultaneously cooked three racks of bacon and not a drip of grease got past the drip tray.- Temp only goes to 400, but there\’s an option to kick it up to 450 to crisp at the end of your cooking. Nice!- Oven light is nice.THE NOT AS GOOD- The flip light used to tell you to flip fries and such just illuminates, no sound. This needs to be an audible sound.- Venting to back instead of sides. The manual states the air fryer only needs to be 2″ away from the wall. I found that at 400 degrees and cooking for 15 minutes that the unit shut down on its own several times. I had to pull the air fryer away from the wall 6″ to keep it from shutting down. I assume the auto shut down was because of an overheat condition, but there was no message that indicated this.If my opinion changes, I\’ll update, but I\’d definitely rate this a great buy!UPDATE 07/28/2025: We\’ve used this air fryer now for several weeks. First, I really do like the appearance of this device over a larger stainless air fryer I bought before this one. I really like the technical aspects of this air fryer. I saw on previous versions of this same fryer people complained about the lack of temperature controls because each step up in temperature on prior versions was in 10 degree increments. My device steps up in 5 degree increments. Also, people complained about the obnoxiously loud beeper that sounds when your food is done. This device has an appropriately loud beeper that doesn\’t both me at all. And though my prior air fryer was of the basket variety and my wife still preferred that format, this one has three heavier wire shelves that work fine. Cleaning is a little more difficult and while I normally hand wash our dishware, so far with a little presoak I\’ve been able to with elbow grease get these clean. The only disappointment I\’ve had so far is with the evenness of the temperature distribution. I wrongly assumed that the fans would more evenly distribute the temperature so flipping food wouldn\’t be required as much. But this cooks hot on one side more than the other, so you do have to pay attention when cooking and flip at least once through the cooking cycle. And by the way, with three racks I have at least double the space to cook things as I had with the old basket style fryer. If in the future I need to replace this device, I\’d definitely consider this one…

Customer Review: Been having this fryer for 2 weeks now and it has NOT rested yet. I LOVE IT & wonder how I\’ve gone this long w/out one. Before I start bragging on this thing, I am by no way endorsed by Ninja or getting paid by them. I\’ve owned a few Ninja products blenders and still have one that\’s over 10 years old. They make quality machines. This fryer is a life & time saver…especially if you\’re a lazy cook. I have been researching air fryers for the past few months and nothing comes close to the Ninja. The basket size isn\’t the large 5+ quart capacity like the bigger fryers, (Ninja is only 4qt), but this thing cooks so fast you won\’t miss the extra 1 qt. It comes w/ a crisper that works perfectly, a recipe book and a multi-layer rack. The first night I had it I made wings and I tell you that I will NEVER buy fried chicken again!!! Yes, they were that crispy and tasted much better. I bought the Louisiana fried chicken flour from Walmart, battered the wings, spritzed w/ a little olive oil and had fried chicken in 10 minutes. No greasy mess, no 3rd degree burns from hot oil, and your house doesn\’t smell like a chicken joint for 4 days afterward. Because the Ninja uses a ceramic coating on their fryers the clean up is very easy. Next, I made sweet potato fries! Had a bag of frozen ones in the freezer and popped those babies in for 10 min. They were crispier than McDonald\’s. I tried homemade fries but the procedure takes too long. You have to peel, slice, soak potatoes, dry them…I\’m just ready to pop them in the fryer and eat! It has been nonstop air fryer cooking in this house! I hit youtube to get a few recipes and it\’s been on ever since. What I like best about this fryer is it has a dehydrator feature and how fast it cooks. Frozen chicken wings? No problem! Throw them in the fryer for 10 minutes and they\’re defrosted. I\’ve cooked pizza, fries, wings, reheated food, fried zucchini, and tonight I baked a chocolate cake. Everything came out perfect! Next up is donuts! The only thing I don\’t like about this fryer is 30 seconds after it finishes cooking it shuts off. I know this is a safety feature but I always have more items to cook. In 2 weeks, I have used my microwave twice, and that was to reheat coffee. Before I forget, I did cinnamon rolls too! I used the canned Pillsbury ones and it normally takes 20 min in the oven. In the Ninja? 8 minutes and that\’s if you like them brown. I actually could have stopped it at 5 min and they would be perfect. My house smelled like a Cinnabon factory!😛 I have used every feature on this fryer except the dehydrator but I\’ll be making beef jerky soon. Overall, I am VERY pleased! The best selling feature was the price & the size. The Ninja is much slimmer than some of the bulkier fryers and fits under my cabinet nicely. I\’m also happy it only used 1500W unlike some of the larger fryers that burn 1800 which could kill your light bill. The outside of the fryer doesn\’t get hot so you won\’t have to worry about getting burned but do take caution when taking your food out. Is it loud? My exhaust fan on my stove is louder than the Ninja. The extension cord on it is long so you don\’t have to worry about being limited on where you can place it. I think I\’ve covered everything? This thing is THE BOMB! If you\’re wondering what cookware you can use, just about anything you place in a microwave you can put in the Ninja. I went to the Dollar Tree and bought a few 7″ foil pans I use to reheat food & bake in. Also, grab you some silicone tongs while you\’re there so you don\’t scratch the surface of your fryer. I have been amazed at how well it cooks things. The preset temps and times didn’t seem like they would be enough…they were. Frozen pizza – 14 minutes gets a very crispy crust. Wings are outstanding. The cool thing is that you don’t need to turn them half way through because the Typhur has heating elements above AND below the food. I just put the wings in and wait for the unit to notify me on my iWatch.I cooked salmon filets with the skin-side down using a meat thermometer. When they hit the proper temp, the meat was perfect and the skin was very crispy. That surprised me. It was as good as using fish cage on the grill but easier to get the entire filet out and much easier to clean.There is a height limitation in the Typhur that I didn’t have before, but the reality is that I don’t need that height for many things. I couldn’t put a whole chicken in it, but I never cooked whole chickens before.At this point in time, assuming that the unit doesn’t fail prematurely (like I know what that is), I would buy this unit again in a heart beat. Three reasons:1) Above and below heating – everything (and I mean everything) has come out perfect. From biscuits to seafood to chicken wings. Perfect. Also, reheating the same items originally cooked in it has been a breeze. Some of these products came with air fryer prep instructions, I followed them to the letter and Ta-Da! For those that didn\’t, I just googled the question and trust me, someone out there knows exactly how long to air fry anything!2) Self-cleaning, self-cleaning, self- cleaning! I don\’t think I need to say another word about this, but I will mention that the non-stick basket is genius and so easy to clean up after cooking in it. No need to use self-cleaning after every use depending on what you cook.3) The App. Yes, it would be cool if the air fryer would start itself when you choose an app setting. Customer Review: “I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this machine. I didn’t think I would – but I do. I don’t like owning a lot of kitchen devices as I have a small kitchen. Additionally, I think people often buy the newest fad and then the machine doesn’t get used. I limit myself to the bare necessities in kitchen appliances. I researched this before purchasing and figure I could return it if it didn’t perform well. This design is totally different from other air fryers. I purchased an air fryer for a friend and while the thing worked it was bulky and I couldn’t figure out how one could actually clean the thing out. I think the oil and debris must accumulate or the high temps sanitizes the machine. I never wanted to own one until I saw how Ninja turned the traditional air fryer design upside down. Unlike all the other air fryers, this design it so very easy to clean because the cooking element of the sits on top of the glass containers. The bowls can be stored in the freezer or refrigerator. Not sure if they are safe for microwave or not. This is so more than an air fryer as it bakes, roasts, grills, etc. Ninja doesn’t advertise the machine as a low calorie way to cook but it should. Any fats from the meat one cooks or oils added to the food ends up at the bottom of the container. Saves lots of calories when using the grill function. The two glass dishes are incredibly easy to clean. One would think with the high temperatures that food would bake on and be difficult to remove. It isn’t. This glass is somehow different and cleaning is easy and simple. Mostly just with soapy water and a sponge unless especially dirty then scrubber side of the sponge might be needed. Cooking has been so very easy. Since it take relative little time to cook say chicken thighs (10 min), I can cook them and then cook some vegetables (5 min) without the meats getting cold. Or I’ve been able to partially cook some baby potatoes and then stack chicken on top and finish cooking both together. I’ve cooked everything from tater tots to marinated tofu and everything has turned out great. As with everything there is a learning curve in determining how long to cook something. When cooked correctly chicken thighs have turned out crispy on the outside while still moist. I cook marinated tofu to be used as either a high protein snack or to be later added to a stir fry. Believe it or not my dog absolutely loves the tofu I have been making in this Ninja. I mean she LOVES it. I have been using this machine several times a week which is highly unusual for my don’t-really-like-to-cook cooking style. The smaller bowl is the right size for one to two people, while the larger bowl is sized for larger portions. With the larger bowl I was able to cook two Cornish Hens. Their picture showing it cooking a whole chicken is wishful thinking IMO. I don’t think possible unless that is a very small chicken. I find grilled vegetables come out great, as do baked potatoes and roasted mini potatoes. Grilled eggplant and peppers have been very tasty. I have attempted a sort of stir fry but since vegetables require different cooking times I found that sequencing the vegetables too time consuming. No fault of the machine as I was asking it to do something it was not designed to do. I tried their tater tot recipe and it was pretty good. I keep trying to create new ways to use this machine and know I have not yet explored its limits. Sometimes if I put too much food into the smaller bowl I will get foods slightly stuck onto the heating element. But never had any problem removing that food. I have not tried baking cakes or anything of that sort but plan to try sometime. This is one of the most versatile machine I have come across and the reason I would buy it again. I’ve started to enjoy cooking again due to this little machine.”

I have a very small counter space and was concerned whether I could go higher than a 2 quart fryer. I use it the fryer sometimes multiple times a day so need to leave it out on the counter. After doing comparisons between a number of air fryers, I selected this out of several overall, and I am not at all disappointed in my selection.
