With massive cleanup efforts underway in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian in Southwest Florida, students at the new Lubavitch Educational Center High School and LEC Middle School sprang into action to help . Whole story

We can never turn a blind eye to human suffering. Regardless of color, race or creed, the chesed was and is universal.

With Hurricane Ian barely off the coast of southwest Florida, massive cleanup efforts were underway. How to manage? Well, the brand new Lubavitch Educational Center High School and their younger siblings, LEC College, have spring into action. By volunteering their days, their breaks and their time, they gathered community support, donations and supplies and left with their Rebbeim. To do what? To clean! To cook! To fix! To wrap tefillin! To share a hug! Say they care! Ft Meyers and Cape Coral were their destination, but their final destination was the hearts and minds of the many souls they touched along the way.

“Our wishes of support continue to go out to Rabbi Minkowitz and Rabbi Labkowski among the many other shluchim trying to rebuild the stock and help their communities,” the rabbi said. Yakov Garfinkelthe high school principal.

Thanks were given to Rabbi Benjy Korf – Dean of LEC for providing many of the donations delivered and for encouraging students and staff to support those in need. Thanks to Rabbi Schwartz, Rabbi Shachar, and Rabbi Evers for giving of their time, energy, and mechanizing the students in such a stellar way.

Thank you Cindy of ‘Temptings’, a boutique bakery, for donating gourmet gift boxes to each of the struggling families.
