MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township High School’s Helping Hands for Hunger initiative hopes for community support in its annual fundraising efforts to ensure Manchester families in need have a decent Thanksgiving.

The initiative aims to support families in the Manchester School District in need. It started 14 years ago during the Thanksgiving season.

In an attempt to keep up with demand, Manchester High School is seeking donations of gift cards from the community to help purchase the perishables needed to supplement the Helping Hands for Hunger Donation Lunch Packs.

“Each year, schools and clubs across the district help support Helping Hands for Hunger with non-perishable donations that provide school families in need with confidential support in the form of packed lunches for the Thanksgiving season,” said Sarah Thiffault, Assistant Principal of Manchester High School.

“In order for us to purchase perishables such as turkeys and the baking ingredients used by the high school culinary arts students who provide fresh baked goods to each family, we are hoping for community support through donations. gift cards,” she said.

Helping Hands for Hunger baskets will be filled and assembled by district students, then distributed on Thanksgiving week.

Donations of gift cards from businesses, organizations and individuals in the local community are appreciated and welcome by Monday November 14th. Please contact Thiffault at [email protected] for more information and to coordinate your donation.
